March is Women's History Month, and March 8th is International Women's Day. The IWD 2021 campaign has #ChooseToChallenge as its theme. What better way to celebrate than meeting amazing women who have been making a difference in talent development?

Join us on March 18th for the unique opportunity to meet four trailblazers whose accomplishments have been changing organizations and their talent in a wide array of industries, including consulting, automotive, hospitality, technology, and the academia. Get energized by their trajectory, expertise and lessons learned, and celebrate the power of women who #ChooseToChallenge.

Learning Objectives:

After attending in this session, participants understand the challenges and priorities of four prominent female leaders in talent development, benefitting from their advice and insights. Participants should also be able to identify emerging trends, differences, and commonalities in panelists’ talent strategies.

About Our Speakers:

Angie Brainard, SPHR, SHRM-SCP - Executive Vice President with Right Management’s Florida/Caribbean Region

Angie Brainard is an Executive Vice President with Right Management’s Florida/Caribbean Region and serves as the region’s Practice Lead for Talent Management including Leader Development, Talent Assessment, and Executive Coaching solutions.  Her consulting engagements have focused on maximizing leadership effectiveness, developing high performing teams, and leading organizational transformation.  Prior to joining Right Management, Angie held various leadership positions in Parks Retail Operations at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL including work in program development for the Disney University. She is a four-time recipient of Disney’s Excellence Award for outstanding contributions to the business. She has also served as Regional HR director in hospitality, construction, and automotive industries. 

Beth Simonetti - Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

Beth Simonetti joined Tech Data Corporation in 2015 as their first Global CHRO, leading Tech Data’s world-wide HR organization where she is responsible for global human resource management, employee relations, talent acquisition, organizational design, leadership development, top team dynamics, compensation, benefits and diversity and inclusion. Beth has more than 20 years of experience with multinational companies in global leadership roles for a variety of industries. Prior to Tech Data, she served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Baker & Taylor, Inc., an international books and entertainment distribution and services company, from 2010 - 2015. Prior to Baker & Taylor, she was an executive search consultant for 4 years and was with Cardinal Health, a Fortune 20 international health care company, for 12 years in progressively increasing HR leadership positions. She has extensive experience in merger & acquisitions, from due diligence to integration planning and execution. She currently serves as a director on the Moffitt Cancer Center Hospital Board of Directors.

Maria Rivera - Associate Director, Graduate Programs, New York University

Maria Rivera has over ten years of Management, Sales and Technology Training, Project Management, Web Development, Video Production, and Training & Development (asynchronous and synchronous) experience in Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and professional service organizations.  She led strategic initiatives at the Baruch College as the Associate Director and at CUNY School of Professional Studies/ACS Project as a Deputy Director. She is currently at NYU the School of Professional Studies as the Associate Director of the Management and Systems Graduate Degree Program.  She is a standing committee member of the NYU SPS Inclusion, Diversity, Belonging, Equity, and Accessibility (IDBEA) Committee.  Maria has produced a variety of blended digital media training solutions for various organizations/industries and has spoken at numerous conferences about Virtual Reality/New Media. She is a member of the Association for Talent Development (NYC and Northern NJ), the Project Management Institute (PMI), The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the National Speaker Association.  She believes in the “Everyone wants to be Magnificent" philosophy and has enjoyed training hundreds of adult learners successfully over the years.   

Stephanie Harrison – Founder & CEO, The New Happy

Stephanie is the founder & CEO of The New Happy, and an expert in happiness and lasting behavioral change. The New Happy is an organization devoted to transforming the way we define happiness, based on science-backed approaches. They work with leaders from corporations around to world to them transform the well-being of their employees. Prior to starting The New Happy, Stephanie led Learning at Thrive Global, where she was responsible for creating their behavior change curriculum that transformed the well-being of millions of employees around the world. Prior to Thrive, she was a product marketing leader at LinkedIn and a management consultant at Deloitte.
